Yesteryear Collection

Let's say you want to move a mountain... change the course of a river... or dig the foundation for a bridge. Where do you turn? To Caterpillar equipment, of course. Today Caterpillar is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, as well as natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines. And, for much of the century, Caterpillar has been at the forefront of heavy equipment design and manufacturing. Indeed, much of Caterpillar's innovations and design have been emulated not only in private business, but in the military as well. In the 1920s when iron-wheeled machines were having trouble slogging through the soft soil of the Sacramento Valley in California, Benjamin Holt developed crawler tracks - a design that greatly influenced the development of military tanks...and which allowed the great machines of the future to handle the most inhospitable terrains. All through history the toughest construction projects have relied on the Caterpillar dealer for maintenance and support. This 1955 Ford service truck is heading out to a construction site with two replacement tyres and rim assemblies in it's bed. When the big Cat machines are moving the earth, it is essential that they be serviced quickly and efficiently, and this trusty pick-up is just the vehicle to deliver the necessary parts. Marked with authentic Caterpillar graphics, this Ford pick-up has been re-created in a highly detailed replica by Matchbox Collectibles, Inc.
